Windows file protection · by CloudBrain
Your work deserves a way back.
When a file disappears, a disk fails or ransomware strikes, yesterday’s work should still have a recovery path. CloudBrain ZDL keeps encrypted recovery points separate from your everyday files—and checks them independently.
For selected Windows files and folders. Protection depends on the last verified backup and your schedule.

Verified before counted as protected
A whole backup, a folder or an individual file
An upload is a transfer. A verified recovery point is what you can plan around.
01 / Protection that stays in the background
Choose the folders. Keep doing your work.
CloudBrain ZDL runs as a Windows background service. Set a daily schedule, select the folders that matter and see the status from the tray. Missed schedules catch up when the computer returns.
- 01
Select what matters
Choose local folders with a native picker. See a source-size × retention estimate alongside measured encrypted usage.
- 02
Capture and encrypt
Volume Shadow Copy captures the selected NTFS scope. Repository encryption protects its content during remote storage.
- 03
Verify independently
The server reads and checks repository data independently. Partial captures and failed uploads do not count as verified success.
02 / Recovery is the point
Find the version. Recover what you need.
Browse authorized, verified recovery points, choose individual files or folders and restore into a new or empty destination. Recover alongside originals with distinct names when you need to compare. Existing files are not overwritten.
- Whole-backup, folder and multi-file recovery
- Native destination selection and persistent recovery jobs
- Verification of restored content and visible outcomes
- English, Hungarian and Slovak desktop interface
03 / A separate recovery path
A damaged PC should not get to rewrite its history.
Device upload credentials are append-only at the application boundary: they cannot delete historical repository packs. Retention and erasure require separately authorized server-side operations. That separation helps preserve earlier recovery points when the source computer is compromised.
This is application-level protection, not provider-level immutable storage or a guarantee against every attack. Recovery depends on intact verified points, credential custody and the backup schedule.
04 / Different jobs, better together
OneDrive keeps work in sync. Backup keeps a recovery path.
Synchronization and backup solve different problems. OneDrive also offers version history and recovery features; availability and retention depend on the plan and settings. A managed backup adds a separate scheduled, encrypted repository and an explicit verification workflow.
| What you need | Synchronization, such as OneDrive | CloudBrain ZDL |
|---|---|---|
| Everyday collaboration | Shared, synchronized working files | Protection of selected local files and folders |
| Change handling | Changes synchronize; version/recovery features depend on the service | Scheduled recovery points with a configured retention policy |
| Success visibility | Sync status shows synchronization progress | A point counts as verified only after an independent repository check |
| Recovery workflow | Service-specific file/version recovery | Verified-point browser, subset selection and alternative-destination recovery |
A few useful answers.
Does ZeroDataLoss mean no work can ever be lost?
No. ZDL is the product name. Files created or changed after the most recent verified capture can still be lost. Schedule, computer uptime, source readability and successful verification determine the recovery window.
Is this a full PC or live-database backup?
The current scope is selected Windows files and folders on NTFS. It is not a full-system image or a promise of application-consistent live database backup. Database workloads need an appropriate export or application-aware process.
What happens when storage fills up?
The configured total encrypted quota is enforced. Capacity estimates help planning; measured encrypted usage reflects actual stored data. Retention preserves the configured verified points, the safety window and recovery holds.
Who manages the service?
